My Story

I started my career as an artist designing greeting cards for DaySpring. I loved seeing my ideas come to life and eventually end up on store shelves. I spent several more years as an art teacher, and doing freelance art and design.

Motherhood surprised me with stories to tell. My kids are my biggest inspiration, and all ideas start with them. I am passionate about making sure that kids with invisible disabilities are given opportunities to see themselves within the pages of their favorite books. Although the journey to become an author/illustrator has not been linear, I have thrown myself into writing and illustrating the last several years. I love being a part of the kidlit community.

I am an active member in SCBWI and am the critique group coordinator for SCBWI’s Houston chapter. When I’m not writing or illustrating, you can find me reading, walking a local trail, or more likely, chauffeuring kids around.

I am currently working on several manuscripts and book dummies, and am seeking representation.
